LinkedIn MCP server: post and schedule from your AI assistant

A LinkedIn MCP server lets an AI assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT work with LinkedIn through tools instead of copy and paste. SociaHive's hosted server at https://www.sociahive.com/api/mcp schedules and publishes posts to your personal LinkedIn profile and reads post analytics. You sign in with OAuth. There is nothing to host.

Is there an official LinkedIn MCP server?

We found no official LinkedIn MCP server or Claude connector as of 2026-10-19. LinkedIn does publish developer APIs for posting, and the MCP servers you find on GitHub and in directories are third-party. Some run a browser session as you to read profiles and send messages, and one popular server's own README warns that this can get an account restricted. SociaHive does the opposite: one hosted server, posting and scheduling through LinkedIn's sign-in, for LinkedIn and your other social accounts. It does less than a scraper, on purpose.

How to connect LinkedIn to your AI assistant

  1. 1

Connect your LinkedIn account to SociaHive

Sign up for SociaHive and connect LinkedIn under Connected accounts. The 7-day trial needs no card.

  2. 2

Add the SociaHive MCP server to your AI assistant

Add https://www.sociahive.com/api/mcp as a connector or MCP server in ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor or another MCP client, then sign in with SociaHive.

  3. 3

    Ask for what you want

Type a request such as "Draft a LinkedIn post about our launch and schedule it for Tuesday at 8:30am.". Anything that goes live asks you to confirm first.

Step-by-step setup: ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor.

Things to ask about LinkedIn

  • The post is scheduled on your profile and shows up in your calendar.

  • One multi-image post is created from the links you gave.

  • A dated list of your upcoming posts across platforms.

  • A ranked summary of your post results.

LinkedIn MCP server login: what it asks for

A LinkedIn MCP server login depends on the server. SociaHive's hosted server asks you to sign in to SociaHive with OAuth from your AI tool, then connect your LinkedIn profile once through LinkedIn's own sign-in screen. You never paste a password, cookie or API key into the assistant.

Many open-source servers work differently:

  • LinkedIn developer app. You create an app, get keys and run the server yourself. Posting to a member profile uses the w_member_social permission, which LinkedIn lists as open to all developers through its Share on LinkedIn product.
  • Browser session. Some servers reuse a signed-in browser or your session cookies to read profiles, search jobs and send messages.

LinkedIn's User Agreement bars bots and other unauthorized automated ways of accessing the service, and one popular open-source server's README says accounts using such tools "can be restricted or banned". Posting through an approved sign-in is a different thing from driving a logged-in browser, which is why SociaHive only posts, schedules and reads your own post numbers.

Add the server URL https://www.sociahive.com/api/mcp to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor. Setup pages are linked below.

LinkedIn MCP server for posting: what to use it for

If you want a LinkedIn MCP server for posting, the useful jobs are the repetitive ones: turning notes into a draft, spreading a week of posts across mornings, and checking what worked. Ask the assistant to write the post, then to schedule it. It uses schedule_post or create_scheduled_post, and you see the result in your SociaHive calendar before it goes live.

Going live right now is a separate step. publish_post_now asks you to confirm before anything is posted to your profile.

What you can attach:

  • Text up to 3,000 characters.
  • Several images in one post, or one video.
  • Media from a public link: JPEG, PNG, WebP, MP4 or MOV.

One server covers all your connected accounts, so the same post can go to LinkedIn and to Instagram, X or Threads in one request, with different wording per platform if you ask.

After publishing, get_post_analytics and get_analytics_overview read results for your LinkedIn posts. Scheduling itself is on every plan. Using it from an AI assistant needs the 7-day trial (no card) or a paid plan.

This is for personal profiles. Company pages are not supported yet.

  • Read other people's profiles, or search people, companies or jobs.
  • Extract leads or scrape anything.
  • Send connection requests, comment or like.
  • Publish PDF document posts (carousels made from a PDF).

FAQ

Is there a LinkedIn MCP server for Claude?

Yes, but not from LinkedIn. We found no official LinkedIn connector as of 2026-10-19. SociaHive's hosted MCP server works in Claude, Claude Code and other AI tools: add https://www.sociahive.com/api/mcp, sign in, and ask Claude to schedule or publish to your LinkedIn profile.

What is the LinkedIn MCP server URL?

For SociaHive it is https://www.sociahive.com/api/mcp. It is a remote server, so there is nothing to install. Paste the URL into your AI tool's connector or MCP settings and sign in with OAuth. Servers from GitHub have no fixed URL because you run them yourself.

Can an MCP server read LinkedIn profiles or extract leads?

SociaHive cannot. It does not read other people's profiles, search people or jobs, or extract leads. Some open-source servers do this by driving a logged-in browser, but LinkedIn's User Agreement prohibits bots and unauthorized automated access, and accounts can be restricted. We chose not to build it.

Does the LinkedIn MCP server post to company pages?

Not yet. SociaHive posts to your personal LinkedIn profile only. Company pages need extra approval from LinkedIn, so they are not supported today. If you need a page, schedule the post for your profile and share it from the page by hand.

Is the LinkedIn MCP server free?

The open-source servers on GitHub are free, and you run them yourself. SociaHive's server needs a trial or a paid plan. The 7-day trial needs no card. Scheduling in the SociaHive app works on every plan, and the free plan covers 30 scheduled posts a month.
