What is Claude Cowork?

Claude Cowork is the way to hand Claude a multi-step job and let it work through it: reading files, using apps and connectors, and coming back with the result. It runs in the Claude desktop app on macOS and Windows, and Anthropic is bringing it to the web and mobile. For some people it now simply shows as Claude.

Cowork is made by Anthropic, the company behind Claude. It reaches outside services through connectors, which are remote MCP servers you add by address.

Connecting SociaHive lets Cowork finish the social media part of a job instead of handing you text to paste. It can schedule posts to 22 platforms, read your analytics and build DM automations for Instagram, Facebook, Messenger and WhatsApp as drafts.

Can Claude Cowork post on a schedule?

Yes. Type **/schedule** in a Cowork task to run it hourly, daily, on weekdays or weekly. Anthropic says scheduled tasks run remotely even when your computer is asleep, unless the task needs local files or apps, and they can use your connectors.

You also do not need Cowork running for posts to go out. Once Cowork schedules a post, SociaHive holds it and publishes at its time through its normal queue, with retries and each platform’s limits.

What Claude Cowork gets: the SociaHive MCP server.

One address, https://www.sociahive.com/api/mcp. The same server works in every AI tool on this site.

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the open standard AI tools use to reach outside apps. SociaHive runs a hosted MCP server, so there is nothing to install or keep running: Claude Cowork calls it over the internet and acts in your SociaHive account. These are the tools it uses most. See every tool and the API.

One connection, every channel.

Connect each account once in SociaHive and Claude Cowork can post to it. Scheduling covers 22 platforms; X needs a paid plan.

DM automations run on Instagram, Facebook, Messenger and WhatsApp on every paid plan, and on Telegram on Pro and Agency.

Is it safe to let Claude Cowork post for you?

  • You approve the connection

Sign in to SociaHive and approve, or use an API key you can delete at any time. The agent never sees your social passwords.

  • Read-only if you want

Tick “Read-only access” when you connect and the agent can look at everything and change nothing.

  • Nothing goes live by surprise

Publishing right now asks for your yes in the chat. Automations it builds start as drafts until you turn them on.

  • Revoke in one click

Settings → Connected apps in SociaHive cuts the agent off on its next request. API keys are deleted under Settings → API keys.

The connection runs from Anthropic’s cloud to SociaHive, so nothing is installed on your computer. If you use an API key, Claude stores it encrypted.

What does it cost?

Cowork needs a paid Claude plan, and scheduled tasks are on Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise. On Team and Enterprise, an owner adds the connector for the organization first.

On SociaHive, MCP access is part of the 7-day trial and every paid plan, from Creator up. There is no extra charge per tool call. See plans.

Included in the trial.

And on every paid plan. 7-day free trial for the paid features. No credit card required.

Connect Claude Cowork

Troubleshooting Claude Cowork.

Cowork does not use SociaHive in a task.
Open the task’s **+** menu, go to **Connectors** and make sure SociaHive is on for that task.
You are on Team or Enterprise and cannot add a connector.
Only an owner can add custom connectors there. Ask them to add SociaHive under the organization’s connector settings, then click Connect yourself.
You need to change the address or the sign-in method.
Claude does not edit connectors in place. Remove SociaHive and add it again.
It asks me to upgrade
MCP access is part of the SociaHive trial and every paid plan. On the free plan the agent can connect, but each request answers with an upgrade link.
An account is missing
The agent only sees accounts connected in SociaHive. Connect it under Connected accounts, then ask the agent to list your accounts again.
A post did not go out
Ask the agent for the post’s status, or open it in SociaHive. A failed post shows the platform’s reason, for example an expired login that needs reconnecting.
It says it is not allowed to change anything
You connected with read-only access. Remove SociaHive under Settings → Connected apps and connect again without ticking it.

FAQ

Is Claude Cowork the same as Claude Code?

No. Claude Code is a coding agent for your terminal and editor. Cowork is for general work with files, apps and connectors in the Claude app. Both can connect to SociaHive.

Is this the same connector I use in claude.ai chats?

Yes. A custom connector you add in Claude is available to Cowork tasks too, so you only add SociaHive once.

Do I need a terminal or an API key?

No. You add SociaHive by its address and sign in with OAuth. An API key is only for teams that prefer fixed credentials.

Can Cowork make images for my posts?

Cowork can attach images that have a public link: SociaHive copies them into your uploads and adds them to the post. Making the image itself is up to Claude or another tool.

Why does Cowork stop and ask me before a post goes live?

Publishing right away is irreversible, so SociaHive asks you to confirm it. Scheduling and drafts go through without that step.

Can it post or change things without asking me?

Automations it builds start as drafts, with every step written out, until they are turned on. Publishing a post right away needs your yes in the chat. If you only want it to look, tick “Read-only access” when you connect: it can read everything and change nothing.

Which plans include it?

The 7-day trial and every paid plan. On the free plan your assistant can still connect, but each request answers with a link to upgrade instead of running.

How do I disconnect it?

Open Settings → Connected apps in SociaHive and revoke it. It is cut off on its very next request. You can also remove the connector in your assistant.

Use SociaHive with other AI agents.
