Connect SociaHive to nanoclaw
Your server address
https://www.sociahive.com/api/mcpnanoclaw
nanoclaw, on the machine that runs it
- 1
In SociaHive, open Settings → API keys and make a key.
- 2
Store the key in nanoclaw’s OneCLI vault for the SociaHive address, following nanoclaw’s credentials docs. Don’t put it in --headers, which is for values that aren’t secret.
- 3
Run ncl groups config add-mcp-server for your agent group with the name sociahive and the server address (full command below).
- 4
Message your assistant and ask it to list your SociaHive accounts.
Then: Ask in chat: “Which of my automations are live, and how many people did each reach this week?”
Install in nanoclaw
Register the server
Replace <group-id> with your agent group. nanoclaw writes the container config for you; don’t edit container.json by hand.
ncl groups config add-mcp-server --id <group-id> --name sociahive --url https://www.sociahive.com/api/mcp
CLI inside the container
Another route: the SociaHive CLI, with the key set in the container’s environment.
npm install -g sociahive export SOCIAHIVE_API_KEY=sk_your-api-key

What is nanoclaw?
nanoclaw is a lightweight open-source AI assistant built on Anthropic’s Claude Agent SDK. Each agent group runs in its own Linux container, keeps its own memory and talks to you through messaging apps like WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord and Slack.
It is published under the MIT license by the nanocoai organization on GitHub. You customize it by forking it and running Claude Code skills, and it keeps credentials in a vault called OneCLI instead of in config files.
Because each group is sealed in a container, nanoclaw needs a clear way out to your social accounts. SociaHive gives it one address for scheduling to 22 platforms, reading analytics and checking your DM automations.
Can nanoclaw post on a schedule?
Yes. nanoclaw has scheduled tasks: ncl tasks create with --recurrence takes a cron expression, and --process-after runs a task once later. A task’s prompt has to say where to send its output.
There is a limit: recurring tasks without a gate that would fire more than 4 times in 24 hours are refused. That is plenty for a daily report or a weekly plan.
Posts don’t depend on those tasks. Once nanoclaw schedules a post, SociaHive sends it at its time even if the container is stopped.
Everything nanoclaw can do in SociaHive.

Shift a whole day of posts in one go, keeping their times.
What nanoclaw gets: the SociaHive MCP server.
One address, https://www.sociahive.com/api/mcp. The same server works in every AI tool on this site.
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the open standard AI tools use to reach outside apps. SociaHive runs a hosted MCP server, so there is nothing to install or keep running: nanoclaw calls it over the internet and acts in your SociaHive account. These are the tools it uses most. See every tool and the API.
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
| list_accounts | Lists the social accounts you connected to SociaHive. |
| create_scheduled_post | Writes a post, with text, images or video, for one or more accounts. |
| schedule_post | Queues a post at a time you pick or at your best time. |
| find_next_slot | Finds the next free slot in your posting schedule. |
| publish_post_now | Publishes straight away, after you confirm. |
| upload_media_from_url | Copies an image or video from a public link into your media. |
| get_scheduler_calendar | Shows what is scheduled, across all accounts. |
| get_post_analytics | Reads reach, likes, comments and saves per post. |
| get_content_insights | Finds which formats and topics beat your usual numbers. |
| generate_flow | Builds a DM automation from one sentence, as a draft. |
| list_flows_with_stats | Lists your automations, which are live and how often they run. |
| bulk_reschedule_posts | Moves many scheduled posts in one go. |
One connection, every channel.
Connect each account once in SociaHive and nanoclaw can post to it. Scheduling covers 22 platforms; X needs a paid plan.
DM automations run on Instagram, Facebook, Messenger and WhatsApp on every paid plan, and on Telegram on Pro and Agency.
Is it safe to let nanoclaw post for you?
You approve the connection
Sign in to SociaHive and approve, or use an API key you can delete at any time. The agent never sees your social passwords.
Read-only if you want
Tick “Read-only access” when you connect and the agent can look at everything and change nothing.
Nothing goes live by surprise
Publishing right now asks for your yes in the chat. Automations it builds start as drafts until you turn them on.
Revoke in one click
Settings → Connected apps in SociaHive cuts the agent off on its next request. API keys are deleted under Settings → API keys.
Keep the SociaHive key in the OneCLI vault, not in a header value or a file in your fork. If the key leaks, delete it under Settings → API keys and make a new one.
nanoclaw or another AI tool?
Every one of them connects to the same SociaHive account.
| Agent | Kind | How it connects | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| nanoclaw | Autonomous agent | Remote MCP server by URL, per agent group | A private assistant in your chat apps that runs recurring checks |
| OpenAI dots | Autonomous agent | Custom MCP server added in ChatGPT, then allowed for the dot | Watching your calendar and automations between check-ins |
| Claude Cowork | Autonomous agent | Custom connector, added by URL in Customize → Connectors | Recurring jobs: weekly reports and a month of posts from a brief |
| OpenClaw | Autonomous agent | Remote MCP server (Streamable HTTP) in mcp.servers | Posting and checking on your accounts from a chat app |
| ChatGPT | Chat assistant | A custom MCP plugin on chatgpt.com, with the SociaHive server address | Writing captions and scheduling them in the same chat |
| Claude Code | Coding agent | The SociaHive plugin, or claude mcp add with the server address | Bulk work from files: CSVs, changelogs, release notes |
What does it cost?
nanoclaw is free and open source. You pay for your Anthropic usage and the machine it runs on, which needs Docker, Node 22 or newer, pnpm 10 or newer and Claude Code.
On SociaHive, MCP access is part of the 7-day trial and every paid plan, from Creator up. There is no extra charge per tool call. See plans.
Included in the trial.
And on every paid plan. 7-day free trial for the paid features. No credit card required.
Connect nanoclawTroubleshooting nanoclaw.
- Calls to SociaHive come back as unauthorized.
- The key is not reaching the server. Check that it is stored in the OneCLI vault for www.sociahive.com and sent as a Bearer token.
- A change to container.json disappeared.
- nanoclaw rebuilds that file from its database. Change servers with ncl groups config commands instead.
- A recurring task was rejected.
- Tasks without a gate can fire at most 4 times in 24 hours. Run it less often, or let it post once and leave the timing to SociaHive.
- It asks me to upgrade
- MCP access is part of the SociaHive trial and every paid plan. On the free plan the agent can connect, but each request answers with an upgrade link.
- An account is missing
- The agent only sees accounts connected in SociaHive. Connect it under Connected accounts, then ask the agent to list your accounts again.
- A post did not go out
- Ask the agent for the post’s status, or open it in SociaHive. A failed post shows the platform’s reason, for example an expired login that needs reconnecting.
- It says it is not allowed to change anything
- You connected with read-only access. Remove SociaHive under Settings → Connected apps and connect again without ticking it.
FAQ
Is nanoclaw the same as OpenClaw?
No. They are separate open-source assistants. nanoclaw is smaller, is built on the Claude Agent SDK and runs each agent group in its own container.
Do I need a SociaHive API key?
Yes. nanoclaw does not document an OAuth sign-in for MCP servers, so it connects with a key you make in SociaHive under Settings → API keys.
Does nanoclaw use the MCP server or the CLI?
Either works. The MCP server is one command per agent group. The SociaHive CLI suits people who already give their assistant shell access inside the container.
Which platforms can nanoclaw post to?
Whatever you connect in SociaHive, from 22 platforms such as Instagram, LinkedIn, Mastodon and Discord. X needs a paid SociaHive plan.
Can nanoclaw post without me asking each time?
It can run a scheduled task, such as a Monday plan for the week. Publishing right away still asks for confirmation, so a task is best used to schedule posts or send you a report.
Does every agent group get SociaHive?
Only the groups you register it for. Run the add-mcp-server command for each group that should reach your social accounts.
Can it post or change things without asking me?
Automations it builds start as drafts, with every step written out, until they are turned on. Publishing a post right away needs your yes in the chat. If you only want it to look, tick “Read-only access” when you connect: it can read everything and change nothing.
Which plans include it?
The 7-day trial and every paid plan. On the free plan your assistant can still connect, but each request answers with a link to upgrade instead of running.
How do I disconnect it?
Open Settings → Connected apps in SociaHive and revoke it. It is cut off on its very next request. You can also remove the connector in your assistant.
