Bold labels in LinkedIn posts
LinkedIn shows the first few lines of a post and hides the rest behind "see more". A bold opening line helps the hook stand out in the feed, and bold labels help a reader scan a longer post.
Type the label above, copy the bold version, and paste it into your post. Keep the body in plain text so it stays readable and searchable.
Post structure
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦: our onboarding took 3 weeks. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐝: one checklist, one owner.
Headline and About: style carefully
Your headline (220 characters) and About section are read by recruiters and by LinkedIn search. That is where bold letters cost the most: a bold "Product Designer" will not match a search for product designer.
If you want visual separation in a headline, use plain text with a separator such as a vertical bar, and save bold for one non-keyword phrase, if any.
Why it works and what it costs
The bold text from this page is a set of Unicode characters that look bold on their own, so it needs no formatting from LinkedIn. That is also why it is not real text to screen readers or search.
If you reuse the same post on X, note that X counts most of these letters as 2 characters each.
