Pick one and watch it get built

The top TikTok hashtags change every week, so a fixed list goes stale fast. The current ranking lives in TikTok Creative Center, where you can filter hashtags by industry and time frame.

A tag that is trending but has nothing to do with your video will not help it. Hashtags are one signal among several, and TikTok says viewer behavior is usually weighted more heavily.

How to find the top TikTok hashtags right now

TikTok's own source is the Trends section of Creative Center, which ranks hashtags and lets you narrow them by industry and time frame. TikTok's help page for Trends gives these steps, and it was last updated in July 2026.

  1. Log in to Creative Center.
  2. Click Trends.
  3. Search or filter by industry or time frame.
  4. Click See Analytics on a hashtag to see its trendline, regional popularity and related hashtags.

Pick the industry closest to yours, not "all industries". A skincare brand and a gaming channel should not be chasing the same list.

Here is what the logged-out Creative Center page for the United States showed on October 18, 2026. Log in to see the full ranking, and expect the order to have changed.

Related hashtags are the most useful column for a small account. A narrow tag with a real audience beats a huge tag you will never surface in.

Do top TikTok hashtags help you get views?

Modestly, and only when they describe the video. In TikTok's explanation of its recommendations, hashtags sit under content information, alongside sounds, view counts and the country the video was published in.

The same page says user interactions, such as watching a video in full or skipping it, are generally weighted more heavily than the others for most users. A viewer who arrives through a tag that does not match your video and swipes away works against you.

Search is where tags count for more. For search results, TikTok lists how well the content matches the search term, plus hashtags and the sound used, as content information, and says this is generally weighted more heavily than the other factors there.

There is also a hard limit on what tags can do. TikTok says some content is ineligible for the For You feed, and no hashtag changes that.

Which hashtags to use on a post

Use tags that say what the video is about, in a mix of wide and narrow. One broad tag for the topic, one or two narrow tags for the specific angle, and a trending tag only if the video really uses that trend.

Broad#bakingAlways, it names the topic
Narrow#sourdoughforbeginnersThe video is about that exact thing

Plan around five. Social Media Today reported in August 2025 that TikTok began telling users it had capped posts at five hashtags. Five well-chosen tags cover this mix with room to spare.

Most popular hashtags versus best hashtags for views

The most popular tags have the most competition. A tag with billions of views gives your video one more feed to disappear into, while a tag with a few thousand posts a week can put it in front of people who want it.

If you post a series, reuse one or two narrow tags across it so viewers who liked one video can find the rest.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the trending hashtags on TikTok right now?

Check Creative Center for the official list. For a weekly snapshot, the third-party chart Tokchart ranks the 100 fastest-growing hashtags and showed #championsleague at 37th on October 18, 2026, up 679% in a week. It is not affiliated with TikTok, and the order will have moved by the time you read this.

What is the 5 hashtag rule on TikTok?

It is the cap users began reporting in 2025, when TikTok told some of them it had limited posts to five hashtags. Social Media Today noted that TikTok had not published an official explanation at the time. If a sixth tag will not go in, remove the least specific one.

How do I get 1,000 views on TikTok fast?

No tag or trick guarantees it. TikTok's own advice is to upload high-quality content on a regular basis and to make videos longer than one minute. Since watching in full counts for more than most signals, spend your effort on the first seconds, not the caption.

Is #fyp worth adding?

TikTok does not describe any hashtag as a shortcut to the For You feed. Its recommendation page lists hashtags only as one example of content information. A tag that says nothing about your video does not tell viewers or the system what it is, so a specific tag is the safer use of a slot.
