A bio that matches your posts
On X, people usually reach your profile from a reply or a repost, read the bio, glance at your last few posts and decide. If the bio says "growth marketer" and the posts are about football, the follow does not happen.
So write the bio around what you actually post. Name the topic, add one line of proof or personality, and stop. The 160 characters are enough for two short sentences, which is about right.
Builder
Building a scheduling app in public. Posting numbers, mistakes and what I would do differently.
Writer
I write about cities, trains and why your commute is the way it is.
Company
Accounting software for small agencies. Product news, tips, and replies from real people.
Bio, display name and handle
Your handle is the @name: 4 to 15 characters of letters, numbers and underscores. Your display name sits above it and can include spaces. Neither needs repeating in the bio.
Location and website have their own fields too, so a bio that spends characters on a city or a link is using space it could spend saying what you post.
Keep posting while you work
SociaHive schedules posts to X along with Instagram, LinkedIn, Threads and others. Write a batch of posts once, and they go out across the week, so the profile behind your bio stays active.
