A name people can read off a video
On TikTok your username shows on every video you post and on every duet or stitch someone makes. Viewers see it for a second or two, so it has to be readable at a glance: one or two words, with a period or underscore only where it helps.
At 24 characters, TikTok allows shorter usernames than Instagram's 30, so long combinations are left out of the results here and you won't see ideas TikTok would refuse.
Username and name work together
Your TikTok name, the line above your @handle, can carry what the username can't: spaces, capitals and a hint of what you post ("Maya | Easy Bakes"). That frees the username to be short and memorable.
If you already have a following elsewhere, use the same handle on TikTok when it's free, so fans can find you by typing what they already know.
Using the four styles on TikTok
Clean names suit businesses and creators who want to be found by searching their name. Aesthetic names fit lifestyle, beauty and art accounts. Brandable names invent a word that is more likely to be free and can grow with you. Playful names suit comedy and trend accounts.
Press "More ideas" a few times: the list moves through a larger pool, so the second and third pages are new names, not a reshuffle.
