Comments on Facebook are read by people who know each other
On Facebook, a post's comments are a conversation between the author's friends, family or community, and by default Facebook shows the most relevant comments first. A comment that sparks replies from other readers is the kind that stays near the top.
That changes what works. Inside jokes and one-word reactions are fine between friends. On a business Page or in a group, specific comments, honest questions and useful additions are what get answered.
The tone setting matters here: "friendly" suits personal posts and groups, "professional" suits Pages and work-related posts.
Commenting from a business Page
Facebook lets Pages comment on other Pages' posts. Used well, that is a way for a local business to show up in front of a neighbouring business's customers: congratulate a nearby cafe on its anniversary, answer a question in a local group with real information.
Used badly, with "check out our page" under every post, it gets the comments hidden and the Page reported. The generator never writes links or self-promotion into a comment. If someone wants to know more, they will tap your Page name.
