The 2,000 and 4,000 limits
Every Discord message is capped at 2,000 characters. Nitro subscribers can send up to 4,000. The limit applies to the message as it is typed, including mentions, markdown, line breaks and emoji codes, which is why a message can be over the limit while it looks short on screen.
If you post the same announcement to a server where some members or bots work with the standard limit, write to 2,000 even if you have Nitro. Use "Check against" above to test both.
Splitting long announcements
Rules, patch notes and event details often run past 2,000. Split them at a heading or a blank line, not mid-sentence, and post the parts back to back. Number them (1/3, 2/3) if people might read them out of order.
For text people need to come back to, a pinned message or a dedicated channel works better than one very long message.
Where SociaHive fits
SociaHive doesn't post to Discord. If your community lives on Discord but you grow it from Instagram, TikTok or X, SociaHive schedules those posts and answers Instagram DMs automatically, so you can send new followers your server invite.
